We built the Krones Contiform 2 heating lamp as a direct replacement for the OEM, point for point, so your preform heating profile stays stable, shift after shift. What matters under the hood We match the Contiform 2 original heating performance with a short-wave infrared halogen emitter built on a quartz tube. The specs are 1:1 to the OEM: 2400 W at 230 V, 1850 mm active length, and an R7s connector so it drops straight into the heating tunnel reflector assembly. Filament geometry and reflector alignment give you the same spectral density and spot pattern, which means the same heat-up rate without re-tuning the oven zones. The lamp holds stable output for 5,000+ hours, with under 5% decay, and it starts instantly—no warm-up lag. Here’s why it works in stretch blow molding. Preform temperature has to land in a tight window before the blow station. This lamp keeps that window tight across the full bottle mix—from 28 mm to 120 mm necks—so you cut scrap and keep unplanned stoppages down. Energy draw stays close to the OEM baseline, and because the dimensions are 1:1, you keep the same lamp alignment and airflow path. No new hot spots, no cold zones. You get repeatable quality, and you’re not swapping lamps every other week. A few shop-floor notes. Installation is plug-and-play on the R7s socket, but the reflector window needs to be clean and untouched. Any hazing scatters energy and throws the heating off. Also, double-check voltage at the lamp terminals—mis-wired 230 V circuits will shorten lamp life fast. Pair the lamp with a calibrated pyrometer for zone control. Without real measurement, even a matched lamp can drift as ambient conditions and line speed change.
