
How we built a 1500W heater that doesn’t blind you
When we set out to design our 1500W ceiling heaters, we had one main goal: make it warm without making it annoying. If you’ve ever used a cheap infrared heater in a bathroom or under a gazebo, you know the struggle. Sure, you’re warm, but you’re also staring into a light that feels like a miniature sun. It’s distracting. It’s harsh. And frankly, it’s a bit much for your eyes first thing in the morning.
Fixing the glare
Most infrared lamps just blast bright, white light. We didn’t want that. To fix it, we used coated quartz glass and some clever spectral filtering. This pushes the energy toward the long-wave infrared side of things. What does that actually mean for you? It means the heat sinks deeper into your skin—which feels great—but the blinding light disappears. You get all the cozy warmth without feeling like you’re under a stadium spotlight.
Why 1500W?
We landed on 1500W because it’s the sweet spot. If you’re in a semi-open space, the wind just steals your heat. You need enough power to fight that breeze. Plus, we made sure these work on standard home plugs. You won’t need to call an electrician to rip open your walls or upgrade your entire electrical panel just to get a bit of warmth. The best part is that it’s radiant heat. It doesn’t waste energy trying to warm up the air (which just floats away); it warmsyoudirectly.
A few tips on installation
There’s a bit of a balancing act when you’re mounting these. Since 1500W puts out a lot of energy, you can’t just slap it against any ceiling. You need a surface that can handle the heat without warping or scorching. And here’s a pro tip: don’t hang them too low. Even with our filtered glass, if the lamp is right in your face, it’s too much. We suggest keeping them at least 2.2 meters up. This gives the heat room to spread out in a nice, wide cone. Instead of one scorching “hot spot” right under the lamp, you get a soft, even glow of warmth across the whole area.
